Monthly active users (MAU) are defined as the number of users that has performed any activity on CometChat within the last 30 days.

Depending on how you are programmatically logging in your users into your platform, this will ultimately decide whether or not they will be classified as an MAU. For example, if User A is logged in once they load the chat window, this user will be classified as 1 MAU. If a user logs in using two different devices, it will be treated as 2 MAU. Users logged in using our SDKs are considered active users even if they haven’t sent a message as the SDKs are still listening to the real-time events.

πŸ’‘ If you exceed your monthly MAU limit, you will automatically be
charged an overage fee of .05 per additional MAU

πŸ’‘ Historical data around your MAU (plus more) can be found within
your dashboard under "Analytics"

πŸ’‘ Usage metrics for the current billing cycle will be
provided for you within your dashboard under "Plans & Billing"
