Of course, you can!

But before we dive into the details of how you can accomplish this, let us walk you through a more efficient and automated setup that can save you a bunch on overhead costs. Therefore, instead of allocating resources to manage your live event(s), you can use:

AI-Powered Moderation 🤖

Data Masking

Hide sensitive information to prevent fraud by masking phone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, plus more!

Image Moderation

Prevent explicit images such as nudity, violence, or visually disturbing content from being sent during a live event.

Profanity Filter

Mask or hide using our standard list of profanity words or input your own!

Sentiment Analysis

Classify incoming messages as positive, neutral, negative, or mixed. Then based on this, you can set up the message to show either a warning or completely drop the message from the chat.

Virus Malware Scanner

By enabling this extension, all files uploaded will be scanned for any malicious content which will then prompt a warning message for the end-user.

XSS Filter

Sanitize messages in real-time to prevent attacks from malicious scripts!

Still not enough? No worries, that's why we've kept the ability for you to add your own moderators to the event in the case that you wanted to leverage our AI-powered tools along with a good old human physical touch.

To do this, you'll have to change the scope of the particular GUID you'd like to become a moderator:

  1. Log into your CometChat account

  2. Select Groups and click on Members

  3. Select Change Scope and from there, you will be able to adjust for moderator permissions

Alternatively, you'll also be able to change the scope of a group member at the code level via your integration method. Simply head on over to our Documentation select your integration method and on the left-hand side, you'll head into Groups Change Member Scope. Here's an example of that in our Javascript SDK.

And then lastly, because we love providing our customers with options, you can also use our In-Flight Moderation extension to moderate your live event from the back-end!
