Where can I find the Data Retention Policy?

CometChat maintains a detailed Data Retention Policy internally, highlights of which are included below. 

How long is data retained on CometChat?

Data  retention  is  based  on  valid  reasons,  and  Customers  can  request  the  deletion  of  their  information or use an API to delete data.  All data is available to the End User at least six months unless 1) we agree to a longer data retention period 2) you request earlier data deletion or use our data deletion API or 3) you are no longer a subscriber and one or more agreements with us require earlier data deletion. Beyond 6 months, data is archived and available to the Customer.

Where is my app data stored?

Storage of your data can occur either in a shared AWS server, a dedicated AWS server, or on your premises. This is chosen by you during the subscription signup process.  We offer shared storage in India, the United States, and Ireland.

Storage of your data can occur either in a shared AWS server, a dedicated AWS server, or on your premises. This is chosen by you during the subscription signup process.  We offer shared storage in India, the United States, and Ireland. 

What data do you store?

We may store data on the following data subjects: customers, business partners, vendors, and prospects (who are natural persons) as well as your users and prospective users as you authorize.

This data may include the following personal data: name, email address, phone number, IP address, and chat/conversation content.
